APC Adopts Direct Primary Method For Presidential Candidate- report

The National Executive Committee of the Progressive Congress has adopted the direct primary method for the selection of its presidential candidate.

It was also agreed that States should adopt the mode of primary that best suits their particularities among the methods specified in the party's constitution.

However, the party stated that states adopting the direct primary method should inform the national secretariat in writing before doing so.

This was part of the resolutions passed by the second-highest decision-making body of the party after its meeting of the NEC in Abuja on Thursday.
