Manchester City Coach, Guardiola Speaks As Imminent Sack Looms Around Wenger

Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola spoke of his admiration for Arsene Wenger after his Manchester City side steamrollered Arsenal for the second time in five days to increase the pressure on the Frenchman.

The Gunners suffered another chastening 3-0 defeat at home on Thursday following a loss by the same scoreline in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

Guardiola celebrated his 100th game in charge in style as Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Leroy Sane all scored first-half goals for City, who now need just five more wins to secure the Premier League title.

Manchester City Banned for Two Years from Signing Under 18

Manchester City were slapped with a ban on signing academy players on Friday after tapping up two schoolboys.

The two-year embargo handed down by the Premier League was the same as Liverpool faced last month, with the second year suspended for three seasons.

But City’s £300,000 fine was three times that of their North West rivals in a case thought to centre on an 11-year-old from Everton and 15-year-old at Wolves.

Sportsmail understands City admitted wrongdoing once evidence was produced to them and will not be appealing the decision, which does not stop them landing targets from abroad.

Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions after their comfortable 2-0 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The result rendered Liverpool's 2-1 win against Newcastle meaningless and sees City lift the title for the second time in three years, having missed out to Manchester United last season.

The trophy marks Manuel Pellegrini's first league league title since leaving South America for Europe in July 2004, and is his second piece of silverware this term after guiding City to Capital One Cup glory earlier this year.
