Ayo Oritsejafor FINALLY explains his involvement in the 'private Jet for $9.3 million arms smuggle'

The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oristejafor, yesterday broke his silence over the controversial $9.3 million seized by South African authorities in his private jet.
The South African authorities, it would be recalled, seized $9.3 million from two Nigerians and an Israeli national who flew into the country with a jet belonging to Oritsejafor.
The CAN boss who spoke at an emergency meeting of the expanded National Executive Council, NEC, of CAN in Abuja said, “I will not do anything to tarnish the image of Jesus Christ.”
He  explained that he leased the jet in “order to ameliorate the cost of maintenance of the aircraft.”
“So far, I have refrained from making any direct public response pending the time I will brief the leaders of the church and explain my position on the issue to them. I believe that the primary institution that I owe any explanation to is the church. I thank everyone who has stood by me these past days even though I have not undertaken any public defence of myself.

Talented music act,Lanre Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan, has acquired the ownership of Lagos based basketball team,The Islanders.
                  Sound Sultan made the announcement on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Spice Route, Victoria Island when he was hosted at weekly music networking event, Industry Nite.
'As most people are aware, I love basketball and movies a lot. So I decided why not invest in what you love, which is sport and filmmaking, asides music of course. So I discussed with my family and team, and we drew a strategy and implemented. The result of which you will be seeing very soon.'
It would be recalled that theNaija Ninjaboss recently completed the filming of a Nollywood flick entitledHead Gone.

Amaju Pinnick Elected As New NFF President

At the end of the second round of voting, Delta FC chairman Amaju Pinnick has been elected as the new president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

In the first round, Pinnick took the lead with 25 votes, while Taiwo Ogunjobi from Osun polled 9 votes. Dominic Iorfa from Benue State was able to get 6 votes. while Shehu Diko from Kaduna had 4 votes. Amanze Uchegbulam, Imo and Mike Umeh Anambra had no vote.

In a statement credited to Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, the coroner of inquest, will be headed by Magistrate O. A. Komolafe, who has been charged with the duty of establishing the cause of the collapse. If found guilty, the Government might necessitate a criminal charge against the church.

For Oliver Udeh and his family, Wednesday, September 17, 2014, was like any other day. There was no premonition to suggest that a calamity of immeasurable pro­portion was about to befall the family of eight, made up of husband, wife and six children, consisting of four boys and two girls.
However, in the evening of that day, the unexpected happened. Their co-tenant, a 50-year old man, identified as Mike Okeze from Abia State, reportedly got hold of a machete and descended on Oliver’s children, hacking them down one after the other.
At the end of the attack, two of the children, Favour, three, and Destiny, nine months, both boys, laid dead. Two others, Gift, seven, and Goodness, five, had their nose and wrist, respectively cut off by the rampaging farmer, who later fled into a bush.

Narrating the tragedy that befell him, 30-year-old Oliver Udeh from Nsukka in Enugu State, who farms at Okha II community, along Benin – Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, said he was on a journey when a call came through that one man, called Mike Okeze, had killed two of his children and their bodies had been deposited at Stella Obasanjo Hospital, Benin, while the other two, who sustained serious injuries were at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

Robbers shoot pastor’s mouth for begging them not to rape daughter(Photo)

The heartlessness of some armed robbers who not only steal from their victims, but also kill or maim them, was manifested recently when a gang of armed robbers attacked a pastor of  pentecostal church in Abeokuta, Ogun State and shot him in the mouth for daring to plead that his daughter should not be raped.

According to information gathered by Crime Reports, the gang members, including Sodiq Asimiyu (21) a.k.a. Nokia, Lekan a.k.a Goddey, Ayo a.k.a. AY, Seun Ojo a.k.a. Sepe, Kassim and Sunday, among others, assembled at a hemp joint at Ojupa area, Oke-Bode, Abeokuta, on May 31, 2014, from where they took off to a robbery operation, using two Bajaj motorcycles.

Captured Boko Haram By Military Troops Surrender Weapons (See Photo)

  

Following relentless onslaught by military troops, many members of the Boko Haram terrorists group are beginning to surrender voluntarily. Some of them submitted themselves and their weapons to the leadership of the troops in Konduga during a further campaign at the weekend. The Defence Headquarters has tweeted that "as the heat on the terrorists continues, five terrorists surrendered with all their weapons to troops at Konduga, pleading for mercy."

Governor Babatunde Fashola approved the new resumption date at a stakeholders’ forum held Sunday, at Lagos Television Blue Roof, Agindigbi, Ikeja. The forum was attended by headteachers and principals of  schools in the state.

Australian negotiator responds to Asari Dokubo's claims that Chibok kidnap is a scam

                I read with interest Asari Dokubo’s comments published on September 14 in the Daily Post.
Asari is quite correct in saying that he knows me well and has met members of my family. In 2004, the Niger Delta was aflame with conflict. Asari, Ateke Tom and Tompolo were waging a fierce war against the Nigerian federal and state governments. Many people had been killed.

Nigerian military were having trouble contending with Asari’s guerrilla warfare. Small, highly mobile and heavily armed militant forces in fast boats struck across the Niger Delta targeting oil installations and military posts. Nigeria’s oil output at one point dropped to as low as 600,000 barrels per day and on average was halved to one million barrels per day.

South African football coach arrested in Nigeria for drug trafficking

38 year old South African football coach, Steven Darlugar (pictured), was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for drug trafficking.

The married father of one was arrested during screening before boarding an Arik Air flight to South Africa. He is said to have neatly packaged the drugs which tested positive for methamphetamine in a compartment before it was discovered by officials.
