Roman Abramovich is poised to offer Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer, a first-team coaching job at Stamford Bridge.

 

Lampard, 39, has been studying for his UEFA ‘A’ coaching licence over the past 18 months and is keen to move into management in the future.

 

He has worked with Chelsea’s youth teams at the club’s Cobham training ground and has impressed Chelsea owner Abramovich.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has confirmed he will be leaving the club after 13 trophy-laden years at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard, the Blues' record scorer with 211 goals, made 648 outings for the Londoners following his arrival from neighbouring West Ham in 2001.

The 35-year-old midfielder, who has been linked with a move to MLS newcomers New York City as his contract nears its end, won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League with the English giants.
