Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions after their comfortable 2-0 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The
result rendered Liverpool's 2-1 win against Newcastle meaningless and
sees City lift the title for the second time in three years, having
missed out to Manchester United last season.
The trophy marks
Manuel Pellegrini's first league league title since leaving South
America for Europe in July 2004, and is his second piece of silverware
this term after guiding City to Capital One Cup glory earlier this year.
