2018 World Cup: Onazi Speaks On 'Rift' With Mikel, Super Eagles' 1-0 Defeat To Czech Republic

Ogenyi Onazi, the assistant captain of the Super Eagles, has dismissed reports of him having an altercation with his national team captain, John Mikel Obi as ‘falsehood’.

It will be recalled that reports emerged recently, insinuating that there was tension in Nigeria’s camp ahead of the 2018 World Cup over a rumoured stand-off between Mikel and Onazi.
Onazi pointed out that he has not been at his best in recent games, adding that his performance has not affected his cordial relationship with the former Chelsea star.

Mikel recovered from a knock that was supposed to keep him out for 10 days, and was handed a start by coach Jaime Pacheco, who also picked Mikel’s Nigeria national team teammate Brown Ideye to lead the attack.

Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, who recently signed a lucrative three-year deal with the ambitious Chinese side, Tianjin Teda, appears settling fast at his new club and he is already proving to me a quality addition.
 
The former Chelsea FC midfielder made his debut for Tianjin TEDA few days ago in their first pre-season game against Borrussia Monchengladbach, and also started in the game against St. Pauli.

Mikel Will Play For Super Eagles Even If He Moves To China

Nigeria Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has said he will hope Mikel Obi moves to another European club, but should he opt for China, it will not affect his place in the national team.

This season Mikel has been frozen out at Chelsea after more than a decade at the London club, and he is now widely expected to move out.

Nigerian footballer Mikel Obi was present on Monday at the Nigeria Breweries headquarters in Lagos to interact with fans and answer questions by reporters.
According to The Net NG when a reporter asked when he will be settling down, he said, “I’ve been dating seriously for two years now. I’m in love. I’ve found love” he said.
Although he didn’t reveal the name or identity of his leading lady, all directions point to Mikel Obi girlfriend (who is russian) 
If you recall in January, Mikel introduced the world to her with a few cheeky loved up photos online.
From his statement at the event he said he has been dating seriously for two years and the last time the couple were seen together (online) was in January 2014.
