Maiduguri Now More Secured Than Lagos, Abuja- Shettima

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, has commended the military for the security situation in the state, saying Maiduguri, capital of Borno is now more secured than Lagos and Abuja. The governor said this today in an interview with NAN.

He said with the return of peace, his administration would unfold a developmental agenda in the next few months.

“Maiduguri is more secured than even Lagos or Abuja. There are 2 million people living in Maiduguri; we celebrated Sallah without any incident,” he said.

Four killed As Explosion Hit Fuel Depot In Lagos

The busy Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos was thrown into pandemoniun, tonight, when an explosives-laden car went off at Folawiyo Fuel Depot.

Vanguard gathered that the explosion occurred at about 8:30pm; affecting four buildings, including two banks. No fewer than four people were killed in the explosion. We are not sure if it was a Boko Haram attack or not.

Suspected Robbers Stoned To Death In Yaba


Two unidentified persons were stoned to death in the Sabo, Yaba area of Lagos State after being apprehended by youths for allegedly robbing a resident of his phones.

Our correspondent, who visited McNeil Road, where the incident occurred, learnt that the alleged robbers attacked a 79-year-old man, Pa Emmanuel Thomas, in his apartment around 4am on Saturday.

The elderly man told PUNCH Metro that the robbers beat up his guest and demanded that he gave them all his money.

He said, “I was in my room and a guest was in my sitting room. But because there was no electricity, I opened the main doors for cross ventilation. A few minutes later, two young guys barged into the house.
