Boko Haram Attacks Adamawa Villages, Abducts 3

Boko Haram militants, in a looting spree on Thursday night, attacked two villages in Madagali local government area of Adamawa state, North East Nigeria and abducted three persons, leaving some others injured.

Residents said the militants sneaked into Milidu and Kaya villages, shot an elderly woman and abducted three people.

Boko Haram Insurgents Behead Six Farmers

Boko Haram insurgents have beheaded six farmers at Dimge plantation in the Mafa Local Government Area of Borno.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the killing is the latest in a string of attacks in the violence-wracked North-east, where more than 20,000 people have been killed in nine years of insurgency.

The voice was familiar: an army commander asking her to assemble a group of hunters to track them downThe seven had vanished earlier that day after a group of Boko Haram militants attacked their village, Daggu. Three local people were shot dead and cars, houses and food stores set ablaze.

A suspected Boko Haram terrorist who was on the run has been caught in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to the Oyo State Police Command he is now being interrogated by security agents.
 
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adekunle Ajisebutu stated that the terrorists simply identified as Alkali was arrested by security operatives after he confessed that he fled from Sambisa forest.

35 Policemen Missing After Boko Haram Attack On Mobile Police Training School

35 Policemen have been declared missing with rescue operatives trying to locate them following the deadly attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on the Mobile Police Training School in Gwoza, last week, the Force Headquarters said yesterday.

The Boko Haram insurgents had first attacked the Mobile Police Training School on the 7th of August, 2014 but were resisted by the Police. They then launched a fresh attack on the 20th, which lasted for several hours where the policemen on duty engaged them in a fierce battle.

So far, thirty-five policemen who are still missing from the facility as a result of the latest attack are being searched for with very promising prospect of locating them, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Emmanuel Ojukwu who confirmed the incident said in a statement released.

Boko Haram has emerged the 7th richest terrorist group in the world according to a report published by The Richest. The group is said to be worth about $70 million which was made by the group between year 2006 and 2011 from their numerous kidnappings and the subsequent ransoms procured.

Boko Haram: I’m Not Against Dialogue, But Muslim Leaders, Others Should Tell Them The Truth- CAN President

The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, yesterday in Abuja at the 2014 National Conference on ‘Voices Against Violence’, said the only solution to defeat boko haram sect in Nigeria is for those who are closer to the sect to speak the truth, saying the entire killing is driven by ideology.

“If we want to end Boko Haram insurgence we as Nigerians must speak the truth. That is the major factor. Boko Haram has an ideology Muslim leaders should engage them and tell them the truth.

“I am not against dialogue, but the people that must dialogue are the Muslims religious leaders, traditional leaders, Muslims political leaders. They must come together and speak the truth”, he said.

BREAKING NEWS: Bomb Explosion Hits Kaduna

The bomb explosion is said to have occurred around the Asikolaye/Bakin Ruwa along Nnamdi Azikwe expressway.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police Umar Shehu  who confirmed the explosion told Reuters that the blast which occurred around 8.30 p.m injured two people who are receiving treatment at the hospital but caused no deaths, he said.
According to sahara reporters, the explosion reportedly shattered many of the glass windows of some of the business premises around the area where the explosion occurred and caused serious traffic grid in the area but security agents have reportedly cordoned the area.

Four killed As Explosion Hit Fuel Depot In Lagos

The busy Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos was thrown into pandemoniun, tonight, when an explosives-laden car went off at Folawiyo Fuel Depot.

Vanguard gathered that the explosion occurred at about 8:30pm; affecting four buildings, including two banks. No fewer than four people were killed in the explosion. We are not sure if it was a Boko Haram attack or not.

‘Boko Haram plans to bomb Abuja with petrol tankers’ - SSS

The SSS on Wednesday June 18 said the Boko Haram sect is planning to bomb Abuja with petrol tankers within the next few days. The Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mike Omeri, made this known at a briefing in Abuja alongside the Deputy Director of the DSS, Marilyn Ogar
"The Nigerian Security services had received intelligence report to the effect that insurgents intends seizing petrol tankers and plant improvised devices in the tankers and drive them to crowded places in Abuja.
“Against this backdrop, we hereby call on the Petrol Tankers Association to be on the red alert and advise their members to report any attempt or seizure of their vehicles to security agencies.
“In this wise, Nigerians are also advised to report any broken down tanker in any part of the territory to security agencies. Similarly, we are using this opportunity to appeal to the public to be on the alert particularly when they see any tanker driving dangerously." He said

Police Avert Explosions In Owerri Church

Imo police have reportedly averted an explosion in the church of state capital Owerri, having arrested 6 suspects and having recovered 2 IEDs.

Sunday morning the worshippers of Port Harcourt Road branch of Winners Chapel miraculously cheated death, as the local police discovered the explosives and detonated them, Premium Times reports. This was officially confirmed by the Police Commissioner Abdumajid Ali.
One of the worshippers identified as Onumara Onyekachi, said:
"I was about getting ready for the second service when a friend posted this 'Breaking News!!!!!! Police Anti Bomb squad has just detonated two bomb explosives planted at Winner Chapel PH road Owerri'. I made a few calls and confirmed that it was true."

US Announces Rewards For Ansaru Leader, Three Other African Militants

The US State Department allocated $18m in rewards on June 13, 2014, Friday, for the capture of Khaid al-Barnawi, the leader of Ansaru, a splinter group from Boko Haram, and three other notorious African militants. The four men are accused of kidnappings of foreigners and numerous attacks on Western targets.

Cameroon kills 40 Boko Haram militants

Report says clashes occurred in the country’s northeast.

Cameroon’s military killed at least 40 Boko Haram militants in the country’s northwest weekend, a government radio reported Sunday, a day after Nigeria labelled the Central African nation the weakest link in its fight against the extremist sect.

The clashes leading to the killing occurred in the town of Kouserri, which borders Nigeria and Chad.

The Nigerian government regards Cameroun as not cooperative as Niger and Chad in the fight against Boko Haram.

After a security summit in Paris two weeks ago, Cameroon said it deployed 1,000 troops to its border to help contain the increasingly deadly group.

BREAKING!! Soldiers have spotted the Chibok girls in Boko haram’s Camp ! #BringBackOurGirls

Nigeria’s special forces from the Army’s 7th Division have sighted and narrowed search for the over 200 abducted Chibok schoolgirls to three camps operated by the wicked Boko Haram sect north of Kukawa at the western corridors of the Lake Chad, senior military and government officials said.

That claim was supported by another senior commander from the Army’s 7th Division, the military formation created to deal with the insurgency in the Northeast. The 7th Division is headquartered in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
