Flying Eagles Qualify For AFCON 2018

Nigeria will participate in the U-20 African Nations Cup next year, after the Flying Eagles won their place in the final with a 5-0 win over Mauritania at Agege Stadium yesterday.

The Flying Eagles complete the reverse match of the final qualifying round with a total of 6-1 after firing 1-1.

Nafizi Yahaya grabbed a double and other goals from Wasiu Alalade, Aniekeme Asuquo and Afeez Aremu handed the ticket to Paul Aigbogun.

Alalade should have given the keeper the lead after six minutes with the keeper.

He made up for his previous failure with the opening of a goal-rush.

It was Nafizi's turn to show his quality as he quietly started the night with a cool finish after being alone with the Mauritanian goalkeeper.

Kano Pillars' starlette got her lining shortly after recess to increase the score to 3-0 as the flying Eagles continued to run wild.

Asuquo winger applied an elegant finishing touch seven minutes after the hour.

Asuquo then turned his marker before lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper, but unfortunately for him, he passed over the post.

The fans turned "Oliver Twist" and the Flying Eagles got one more goal after A suquo was shot in the box.

IK Start defensive midfielder Aremu put the finishing touches on the court with a good kick at the moment of injury.
