WhatsApp will stop working on these phones from February 2020

WhatsApp is an application that works on all platforms. In fact, even phones with affordable features are compatible with the app. But from time to time, WhatsApp searches for a list of old phones for which support is suspended and if you have an old phone as a backup, you can continue reading.

The popular email application terminates support for several older operating systems, which means that users will not be able to create new accounts or re-check existing accounts on multiple old phones. WhatsApp in a message on its Frequently Asked Questions page now mentions that users of Android phones versions 2.3.7 and earlier, as well as iPhone with iOS 7 and earlier, will no longer be compatible as of February 1, 2020.

This update should not affect you unless you use an older iPhone or Android phone as a backup copy of the worst case. But this is how WhatsApp suggests not to support old phones forever.

According to a tweet published by WABetainfo, WhatsApp will not support devices running on iOS8. However, users can still use WhatsApp in iOS 8, but they will not be able to check the account if they reinstall it.

WhatsApp has regularly added new features and some of them require powerful phones and newer versions of Android and iOS to work properly. Features such as video embedded in discussions, fingerprint authentication, etc. they require a lot of resources and powerful phones with enough RAM and a newer operating system. WhatsApp said that some phones would not be able to support the function it was planning to offer in the future. That's why he ends their care.

"We will no longer actively develop these operating systems, and some features may stop working at any time.If you are currently using an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version ...", declared WhatsApp on its support page.
