A suspect arrested for stealing tithes and offerings from a church in Lagos (photo)



Elikor Ehud, 18, pictured above, was arrested by men from the Ejigbo Police Station in Lagos State for allegedly attacking a church in the area and carrying tithes and offerings.



State Police Command spokesman Bala Elkana issued a statement saying that on October 1, a pastor, Moses Nwoke, from the Divine Vine Department, chose Furniture Avenue, Ejigbo, reported At the Ejigbo Police Station on August 30th of the ecclesiastical service, strangers broke the wooden crates placed in the altar for the offering of special tithes and seeds of faith and stole the money.

After an in-depth investigation by the Ejigbo Police Station under the supervision of the Division Police Officer, Ehud was arrested on 15 October.

When questioned, Ehud confessed to stealing the sum of six hundred and seventy thousand naira ($ 670,000.00) in cash from the Boxes of the Church. He also mentioned Lucky as his accomplice.

Police say efforts have been made to stop the accomplice. The suspect will be charged in court.
