Three people lost their lives in the accident while others suffered injuries.

The witnesses said that the three victims who died were the bus driver, the driver and a passenger. The cable photojournalist who tried to take photos of the scene was challenged by thugs, while he was warned not to take more photos. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the emergency response prevented the loss of lives.
"The prompt response of the emergency / security operatives to the scene culminated in the rescue of two trapped victims who were removed with the help of the agency's light rescue team and immediately taken to the hospital by officials of the State Ambulance Service. Just 24 hours after the incident, commercial buses resumed their operation at the scene that they turned into a bus stop. Some of the buses that drive Ikeja parked in the exact place of the accident to pick up passengers.
