Workers disappointed as federal government Sign N25,000 as New minimum wages

The tripartite committee's negotiations on a new national minimum wage have come to a standstill, as the federal government has come to the conclusion that it can not afford more than NNN 25,000 per month as a new minimum wage



Organized Labor and the Organized Private Sector (OPS) have refused to accept the federal government's figures and insist on a minimum wage of N30,000 per month.



The Federal Government has previously presented N21,700 per month as a new minimum wage to the other social partners when the tripartite committee resumed its meeting on Thursday 4 October.



But not content with what the federal government had presented despite the high cost of living in the country, the Organized Workers and the Organized Private Sector (OPS) have consistently agreed and increased their former number from N25M to N40,000, 000
