The National Assembly of Nigeria has postponed its resumption. The parliament will now resume on October 9 instead of September 25 previously scheduled.
The postponement was contained in a statement by the secretary of the National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori, addressed to lawmakers.
"This is to inform all the distinguished Senators and Lordships that the resumption of the plenary session scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, was postponed until Tuesday, October 9, due to the activities of the primary political parties.
"All distinguished senators and honorable members are expected to resume the plenary session before 10 a.m. October 9, please," the statement said.
