Buhari Meets Nigerian Elected Italy’s First Black Senator

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the first black person senior senator in Italy, Mr. Toni Iwobi. Iwobi, who is from Nigerian descent has lived in Italy for 41 years.

Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Advisor to the President of Media and Publicity, in a statement in Abuja on Friday, said Buhari met Iwobi and a high-powered team from the Italian Senate in New York.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in New York, Thursday. Adesina said the question of how to migrate and invest in Africa, and the recharge of the Lake Chad via inter-basin water transfer, among others
