After the incessant collapse of trucks carrying petroleum products in Anambra State recently, the state government has ordered the ban of their movements in the state during the day.

The prohibition notice was contained in a news release from the Information Commissioner, Mr. CDon Adinuba.
He said, "The Anambra State Government has decided to limit the time that vehicles loaded with petroleum products can travel in the state. As of Saturday, November 2, 2019, these vehicles may be allowed to travel in the state of Anambra at 20 hours only. at 5 o'clock in the morning
"The restriction is intended to allow agencies such as the Anambra State Fire Department, the Nigerian Police, the Federal Road Traffic Safety Agency, the Civil Defense Agency and the National Security Agency. traffic management, and other security, law enforcement and security agencies respond effectively and in a timely manner to emergencies created by such accidents that can sometimes cause fires, such as this was the case in Onitsha on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 "
"Therefore, the Nigerian Police Command of Anambra State and ALL other security agencies have been instructed to forcibly enforce the restrictive order prohibiting the movement of trucks carrying petroleum products into the State. . " .
"They were also asked to ensure that these vehicles do not exceed the speed limit of 90 kilometers per hour.
"Any violation of the duration limitation order or the speed limit shall be punished accordingly and the protection of the life and property of every person in Anambra State shall not be impaired."
The Commissioner urged all interested parties, including petroleum traders, oil workers, oil tankers and downstream petroleum stakeholders, to be patient with the state and to contribute to compliance with this regulation. main audience
