Building collapsed killing 85-year-old woman at Ofoase in Eastern Region
An 85-year-old woman has died after a  building in Ofoase, the
Eastern Region of Ghana collapsed on her while she was asleep on Tuesday
 night.
According to Adom News, Akua Krah was said to be asleep with her
15-year-old grandson, Akwesi Boadi, in separate rooms when the building
collapsed.
Boadi survived, but sustained minor injuries and had been taken to
the St. John’s Hospital at Ofoase. The cause of the collapse is yet not
known.
But an eyewitness revealed that the dead woman was asleep when a loud sound woke her up.
“When I got outside, I realised the building had collapsed and I
decided to wake other members of the area up to go to the rescue of the
 occupants." The eyewitness said.
She said the rescuers found the old woman dead. The grandson who
was in a separate room had injuries as a result of slabs that had fallen
 on his leg.
The body of Akua Krah had been deposited at the morgue.
