13-year-old Girl begins microbiology master’s degree

Sushma Verma, an India girl is defying
educational norms by pursuing a master degree
in microbiology, after her father sold his land to
pay for her tuition.
Sushma Verma said she was able to finish high
school at the age of 7 and undergraduate
studies at the age of 13 only with the sacrifice of
her uneducated parent.
She has three younger siblings, they live in a
cramped room in Locknow, the capital of Uttar
Pradesh state, and they live off their father
daily wage of up to 200 rupees (less than $3.50)
from a
construction work.
Her father 10,000 square feet ( 930 square
meter) of land for 25,000 rupees.( $400) to cover
for her school
fees. The rest will come from charity.
