A pregnant woman has said she has seen the face of her grandmother in a scan of her unborn baby.

 

Stephanie Jackson's gran died 14 years ago but said she had been 'praying' to her for a baby because she wasn't sure if she and her partner would be able to have children.

 

The 32-year-old from om Knowsley Village, Merseyside, went for an 18 week scan and was told her baby boy, who is due in July, was healthy.

You said President Muhammadu Buhari should forget about his second term bid if security is not improved on? Can you throw more light on this?
If I am not sure I will be safe as it looks now, how do we commit the future into his hands? We don’t vote people because we want them to go and sit down in government. Are they there for a jamboree?

If security issue remains this way, will CAN raise a candidate using a political platform? 
We are not politicians in CAN. Christians can decide on their own to contest.

Apart from security, which other areas would you advise the government to improve on? 
Infrastructure is number one. There is less supply of electricity. This is the third year of this administration and all we hear are promises. Did the rest of the world get their electricity from heaven? Why has our own not arrive yet? Collapse of our roads is another area.

It really did go down the wrong pipe: A striking new image shows a chicken bone lodged in an Australian man's lung. What's more, the bone was stuck there for five days before it was discovered.

 

The 78-year-old man initially went to the emergency room right after he choked while eating chicken, according to a new report of his case. He told doctors that he felt like he had something stuck in his throat; however, an X-ray of his neck and chest didn't show anything suspicious.

 

So, doctors assumed that whatever had been stuck had been dislodged, and the man was sent home.

 

However, five days later, the man was back in the ER — he had developed a fever and shortness of breath, and there was a high-pitched wheezing sound when he inhaled, according to the report, published yesterday (May 2) in The New England Journal of Medicine.

Three Nigerian men arrested in Chicago in what was described as a stolen car packed with counterfeit passports, drivers’ licenses, and cash, are back on the street, after they faced relatively minor charges

Mayowa Balogun, Danteni Tijani and Dolapo Badmus, were picked up on January 23, in a Maserati SUV which came back stolen out of Ohio. Police alleged all were carrying counterfeit passports and driver’s licenses, mostly from Great Britain.

According to Nbcchicago, the investigators said they also found nearly $40,000 in the car’s glove compartment, and over $13,000 in a coat elsewhere in the car.

President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated that the driving force for seeking public office should be to serve the people, improve their lives and not for frivolity or personal ambition.

Niger State Consumes 30,000 Codeine Bottles Daily

 

 

More revelations have continued to trail an undercover investigation by the British Broadcasting Corporation on the codeine epidemic in Nigeria.

 

According to a research work carried out by the Development Initiative of West Africa (DIWA), 30,000 bottles of cough syrups containing codeine are consumed in Niger State daily.

 

The initiative further disclosed that 3 million bottles of the product are consumed across the nation on a daily basis.

 

Speaking at a quarterly DIWA awareness programme on the codeine menace, the Niger State DIWA boss, Mallam Musa Mohammed El-Sani, decried the high rate of consumption of the product by women and young people in the state.
