According to Kumamoto police, the 24-year-old man, Tensho Yoshimura, fed meth to 3-month-old Yushin Nishida.
Police investigation revealed that on early Friday morning, Yoshimura and the child’s 20-year-old mother checked into a hotel along with Nishida.
After a while, the mother saw her child lying unconscious so she called for help. Paramedics arrived at the scene, and the boy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died an hour later due to a meth overdose.
The unidentified woman who has two other children was arrested and charged with drug possession.
It’s unclear if the couple had an argument before the crime but Yoshimura was later arrested and charged with one count of murder and violating the Stimulants Control Law.
