How 11-Year-Old Boy Jumped From 40ft Shopping Mall Fire That Killed His Entire Family

Captured in the image above is the horrific moment an 11-year-old boy was forced to hurl himself out of burning building to escape a blaze thought to have killed his entire family.

Little Sergey Moskalenko jumped for his life from an open window as the inferno tore through a Russian shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo.

At least 64 people have been killed, with nearly a dozen children thought to be missing.

The gigantic fire is reported to have broken out in the cinema complex of the four-storey Winter Cherry shopping centre.

A 24-year-old Nigerian woman, who had come to India in July 2014 for a kidney transplant, has been stuck here ever since. The reason:  a person who promised the transplant was part of a kidney racket.

 

Esther Theophilus, a pharmacist, has been futilely waiting for a kidney donor for nearly four years. Her stay in the country has also became illegal as she failed to get herself registered with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) owing to her poor health. While Theophilus hoped to receive kidneys and return home to meet her mother. But her diabetic mother passed away more than a month ago.

A year two senior student of the Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, has said she will not return to the school even after Boko Haram returned nearly all 110 students kidnapped from the school.

 

Rakiya Adamu, SS2, who was among the lucky few that escaped on February 19, when dozens of her friends and schoolmates were kidnapped, said, “I will not go back to Dapchi again.”

 

Although Rakiya had a lucky escape when the terrorists struck, she shared her horrific experience in the current edition of The Interview magazine, “We were in school waiting for the Magrib prayer when we started hearing gunshots. We started running with our teachers, looking for where to hide. We ran and ran and jumped the fence. We became tired and ran into a nearby village where we asked for help….”

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is expected to release the second batch of the results for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), on Tuesday, March 20.

 

JAMB’s Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, confirmed that the Board held a crucial meeting, on Monday, over the results and that some results were to be released after the meeting or today.

These were the prayers of 61-year-old Isah Maiturari, a notorious kidnap kingpin and dealer in most stolen cars in Niger State.

Maiturari who hails from Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State was arrested for the eight-time in 29 years last week when he was picked up by men of the Inspector General of Police’s (IGP) “Operation Absolute Sanity” from his resident at Sauk Ka Futa, a suburb of Minna, the Niger State capital.

Maiturari, a father of 29 children and three wives had flourished in criminal activities, ranging from kidnapping to receiving and selling of stolen cars within Niger, Kogi, Kaduna and Kano states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

A Nigerian teenager, Kelvin Odunuyi, 19 living in the UK has been gunned down as he stood with friends at the entrance of the Vue cinema in Wood Green, at just after 12.30am on Thursday.

 

According to UK Guardian, police were called to Hollywood Green, Wood Green, north London at about 12.32am on Thursday to reports of a shooting, the Metropolitan police said.

 

Officers found the young man suffering from a gunshot injury outside the cinema complex.

 

It is believed that the assailants fled on a moped after shooting the teenager. He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. No arrests have been made, and the man’s next-of-kin have been informed.

The former governor who has been in coma for several days at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, died yesterday night. His son, Hafiz Saleh had lamented how the state authorities neglected his father by refusing to give him appropriate medical check-up.

 

He said the state government had also refused to pay his pension.
